We had our honeymoon in Hong Kong as Lisa was born in Kowloon. Justin's Mother Elaine paid for it. Flying with Cathay Pacific: a Boeing 747 on the way out from Heathrow and a 777 on the way back. Oh and we had a Lonely Planet guide book which was a mixed blessing.
We left England Sunday 02-Nov at 11:50am and arrived Hong Kong 03-Nov at 7:45am
We left Hong Kong Sunday 16-Nov at 14:30 and arrived Heathrow 16-Nov at 20:15

We had a 'honeymoon upgrade', which didn't seem to make a whole lot of difference.

Octopus Card Travelers Tip: Octopus Card. This card was the single most usefull thing during our stay. Get it from the MTR stations, the card can be used for a lot of things, most important is that you can use it on transport: trams, bus, MTR, etc. You just hop on and swipe your card, that's it! No fiddling with change or notes, just one swipe and the money is taken from the card which you can top-up at most MTR stations. When leaving from the airport you get your deposit back and hand over the card.

Tian Tan Buddha The Tian Tan Buddha statue near the Po Lin Monastery on Lantau island. Said to be the largest "outdoor seated bronze Buddha". You must see it and the monastery is quite good also. You need to get to Lantau Island first which is easy as it is near the new airport, then get a bus to the monastery. You won't regret it.

Our hotel - the Newton, rooftop swimming pool, reception

The Newton is right near the sublime Victoria Park where you can go walk around and relax with the locals who are doing the same thing. There is a park on the Kowloon side which is also a must, with a bird aviary and a lovely relaxed feel. Here you can watch the locals doing Tai Chi (this was what inspired me to finally take up Tai Chi (see my Tai Chi Page)

A visit to the peak is an absolute must, the views at night (or in the day) are stunning.

I would also recommend going to the other side of Hong Kong Island to the beaches Repulse Bay is particularly nice with a sort of temple up one end.
